Give Thanks & Pray for healing with Sam

Dear  ...

This is to let you know that Mark Bowers and I just came back from the Wing PaPao Area (1 hour on the road towards ChiangRai from CNX), where Sam &  Kul Lim and Chalor Roberts with the Roberts car were involved in a car accident.

All three are now here in ChiangMai. Chalor is at the McCormick Hospital being checked again tonight about her neck pain. There is hope that the cause of the pain will not be anything really serious. Sam and Kul are ok. Sam, who was the driver, was shocked for understandable reasons. They are staying at Marianne’s house tonight before they will move to the Condo Flat as planned before. They actually were moving their stuff to CNX when it happened!

The driver of the other vehicle died at the accident. The passenger is heavily injured and was moved to ChiangRai Hospital. It’s a mystery that he survived having seen that car. – Regarding the accident, Sam was driving correctly on the left side going up the mountain in a big curve when another pickup truck coming down the mountain lost control, first hit the wall at the outer side of that lane and than started spinning crossing the road to the other side crossing Sam’s lane. Before he made it to the ditch Sam hit this spinning car (for Sam head on; for the other car from the side) and moved it about 5m up-hill on his lane. A police man said: “The correct driving vehicle had no chance of avoiding this spinning car since things happened so quickly.” – This means that there was no reckless driving involved on Sam’s part at all, but most likely on the other vehicles part. – The road is tricky there coming downhill for a long nice stretch before entering this curve almost at the bottom. Many tend to enter that curve with too much speed. To make matters worse it also just started to rain when it happened. The other driver must have misjudged the situation completely, which ended fatally from him.

We are glad that none of our people are injured more badly. We pray for quick and complete healing, particularly for Chalor, Neel’s wife. We also pray for the people of the other party, which we don’t know. The driver and the passenger were two young men in their twenties, as the police said. – Whether Neel’s nice Isuzu can be fixed or not needs to be found out!

It was great having Mark with me in Wing PaPao and see Marianne, Saiphin and Chiang taking care of Chalor in the Hospital when the ambulance arrived there. Thanks a lot for all the help received!
